Warhammer Online armies (known as race)are divided into two separate factions known as Order and Destruction. Each factions contains three separate races. To break it down even further there are several career paths a player may choose, some are generic specific. Your choice of army importantly influences which other armies you will be allied with, and also dictates what career options will be available to you. The best way to find out which faction and race is for you is to read each one and what they have to offer for your advancement in this game. This list the two forces with their armies which consist of seven playable races.

The Order was formed for a last stand against the invasion of Destruction. The rulers of each nations formed a pact to fight their enemies as one.

• The Dwarfs - The Oathbearers
• The Empire - The Order of the Griffon, an army consisting of Humans.
• The High Elves - The Shining Guard, an army consisting of Elves.

Destruction was created for the same goals of annihilating the forces of the Order.

• Greenskins - The Bloody Sun Boyz, an army consisting of Orcs and Goblins.
• Dark Elf - The House Uthorin, an army consisting of Elves.
• Chaos - The Raven Host, an army consisting of corrupted Humans.
