The Dragon Gate remains in our hands ... for the time being. I cannot say for certain if we can hold it against the forces that have been arrayed against us.

Travel southeast to the Dark Elf staging camp in Dragon Pass.
Defeat the warriors and their captain.
Find the Battlefield Orders that are located somewhere in the camp so that you can learn more about the Dark Elf assault.
